My work includes co-leading large-scale global conferences, developing train-the-trainer resources, and using data from needs assessments and evaluations to refine learning strategies.

Training Specialist – Peace Corps
Design and deliver learning initiatives for global staff and Volunteers, with a focus on leadership, safety and security, cultural competency, and more.
Implement of scalable, compliance-based training programs for 3,500+ global employees.
Create training materials, facilitate virtual and in-person sessions, and ensure programs align with evolving needs across 60+ countries.
Manage project lifecycle -needs assessments, scope definition, stakeholder communication, development, and LMS deployment.
Develop and deliver SCORM-compliant courses using Articulate Rise 360, Storyline, and Captivate.
Partner with legal, field, and operations teams to align training with evolving safety and performance standards.
Prepare leadership briefings and evaluation reports demonstrating learning impact.

Project Title: Trauma-Informed Interviewing Onboarding Training Project Scope: Develop an interactive, standardized onboarding module on trauma-informed interviewing for all overseas staff involved in Volunteer crime response. The training needed to align with mandates and could incorporate content from an external vendor contract, but the development of the final online product was out of the vendor’s scope and required internal design and implementation. Budget Constraints: No additional funding was allocated beyond the existing vendor contract. The project required internal design and development resources to complete the training integration and deployment. Key Roles: Instructional Designer / Project Lead: Led design, development, and implementation Aligned instructional strategies with trauma-informed practices and organizational policy Subject Matter Experts (SMEs): Crime Response & Mental Health Specialists. Attended EVAWI (Ending Violence Against Women International) industry conference for research. Reviewed content for accuracy and sensitivity Program Sponsor: Office of Safety and Security Provided oversight, sign-off, and compliance requirements Vendor: External content provider Delivered base content but not the final digital training product Deliverables: Needs assessment and content mapping based on vendor materials Interactive online training module (SCORM-compliant) Knowledge checks and reflection prompts tailored to adult learners LMS-ready eLearning package compatible with internal platforms Deployment plan and evaluation framework for compliance tracking Outcome: Successfully launched a mandated, trauma-informed training module accessible to all overseas staff, ensuring consistent onboarding and improved preparedness in responding to Volunteer reports of crime.

Facilitation Skills Training - Challenge: Overseas Staff have a variety of levels of training on facilitation skills and have to deliver intensive in-person training sessions. They need useful, efficient, upskilling training on facilitation skills and adult learning theory. Solution: In-person conference training conference that included five sessions on facilitation skills. Some Sessions: Chunking, Overview of Adult Learning, Reducing Cognitive Load, Using a "parking lot" as a Training Tool

Annual Training For Clearance Holders - Challenge: All employees who hold a security clearance need to take a mandated annual refresher training. Resources are limited and the training can no longer be offered in-person. Solution: Developed an asynchronous online training using Rise 360, meeting the mandates and also improving end-user completion rates and satisfaction.

Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Online Training - Challenge: Congressionally Mandated Training for all Volunteers serving overseas to inform of sexual assault definitions and reporting procedures. Solution: Online training module incorporating videos, interactive activities, and completion tracking to meet requirements while increasing end-user satisfaction and completion rates.

Trauma-Informed Interviewing Annual Refresher - Challenge: The annual conference was cancelled and we needed to find a way to give overseas employees an opportunity to complete annual refresher training to practice trauma-informed interviewing skills. Solution: Single-handedly designed and built this training in Rise 360 and includes interactive scenario activities based to complete based on the Peace Corps policies and procedures. This was a follow-up training module to the comprehensive Trauma-Informed Interviewing Training that is is listed above.
